With the multitude of STDs that are widespread among our youth, it is a public health issue. Having only 1 partner for life who has also had only 1 partner (you) is the only way to insure one's safety. Anything more "comprehensive" is like saying, "Well, we know you're going to play in traffic, so here's a football helmet -- play safe."<BR/>(2) Other past studies have shown its effectiveness.<BR/>(3) Even though some students fail to meet the goal of abstinence, that does not mean our goal should be changed. We owe it to the children not to settle for less than what is best for them. They will never meet the challenge of abstinence if we do not present it to them and compel them to meet it, believing it can and should be done.<BR/>(4) One can not leave "anything moral" out of school. All students are held to some level of behavior expectations, which exist in a moral framework. Everything from "do your homework" to "abstain until marriage" is based in morality.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10132773.post-32658956205166258232007-04-14T21:33:00.000-07:002007-04-14T21:33:00.000-07:00Re bullet #2.
