The Daily Grind
I teach because I have to. In all the jobs I've had to pay my way through life, only teaching has (as of today) not left an empty feeling. This is my calling; and sometimes I feel that I chose to teach as much as teaching chose me. *Note: The thoughts expressed here are my own and not intended to represent the school or district I work for.

Great WORDS, but has he backed them up by his record as an elected official ? ( not to pick on Senator Obama, I ask this of any candidate for political office )
Nice to hear someone other than a TEACHER speak this common sense. How nice it would be to make that shift in ideals, wouldn't it?

He has a history of supporting legislation to recruit and reward effective teachers and voting yes to close corporate tax loopholes in favor of educationfunding.
No candidate will be perfect, but just the fact that a Democrat is willing to break rank from our pro-education unions is enough to peak my usually Republican leaning interest.
